These Are a Few of My Favorite Things
I will be heading out for vacation this Sunday for about 10 days. My destination – Hawaii! First time for me believe it or not. Actually it is my lovely wife who is dragging me off. Her idea of a vacation is relaxation while mine is riding roller coasters. This being Hawaii however I’m sure I am going to enjoy it. I need a break from the daily routine anyway and what better way to do it then a relaxing vacation on the little island.
So I probably won’t be posting anything next week but should be back the following week. In the meantime, I leave you with a few of my favorite things, that is blogs that I like to read.
1. Search Engine Watch Blog – If you want to keep up on all the latest happenings in the world of search, this is the place to visit. Barry Swartz and others do a great job highlighting all the important things that happen in the world of search on a daily basis. Then there is Danny Sullivan’s frequent posts as he dives deeper into various subjects.
2. Search Engine Guide Blog – I have always enjoyed reading my friend Jennifer Laycock’s writing. Jennifer provides her own views and opinions on various topics in search as well as published articles from various contributing authors such as myself, Jill Whalen, Scott Buresh, Lee Odden, Matt Bailey, Stoney deGeyter and others.
3. SEOmoz – A daily read for sure. Rand Fishkin doesn’t just rehash the same news that everyone else does but really allows you into his mind to see what he is thinking about. He has given us some awesome resources such as “Search Engine Ranking Factors” and “Beginner’s Guide to SEO“. I can always expect the unexpected with Rand and look forward daily to reading his posts.
4. Threadwatch – This valuable resource is part blog, part forum and all opinion. It is opinionated search news. Owned by Aaron Wall and Dave Naylor, they and contributing editors cover newsworthy events but with a tabloid’esque skew.
And there you have it. Not an entire list of blogs I follow on a daily basis but my favorites for sure. Well, I’m outta here. See you in a week or so.
