Heading To Search Engine Strategies in New York!
It doesn’t seem that long ago that I was in Chicago attending the winter Search Engine Strategies conference and now, New York. My wife and business partner, Irma, and myself will be heading to New York on Monday for this year’s SES – my first time to the big city and her second. That’s the reason why I haven’t put up a single blog post until now – been busy trying to wrap up two weeks worth of work.
We get in Monday and will hook up with friend Li Evans to have dinner. Then we will probably head to the hotel bar to meet up with friends and colleagues. Tuesday we will be attending the The Late Show with David Letterman. Scott Orth was good enough to include us in a group of 16 that are going. Not only have I been a fan since my teen years, this will be the first time I have ever been to any kind of live TV show. And of course we will have to stop by Rupert Jee’s Hello Deli. If you don’t know who Rupert is, then you aren’t a true fan of the show.
On Wednesday we will attend the Marchex / Industry Brains party with friend Matt McGee. It ends early (at least the free drinks) so I don’t know where we will head after that. On Thursday we are going to try to do a Broadway show, either Wicked or Les Miserables.
Other than that, Irma wants me to experience a subway ride (yeah), we will visit the site of the Word Trade Center, the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building and Stagecoach Deli. Of course I’ll have to try New York pizza and see if I like it better than Chicago’s famous deep dish pizza. I would go to Coney Island to ride the world famous Cyclone but unfortunately it is only open on the weekends until summer and we are heading out on Friday. Oh and I hope to meet up with a client – Wasp Barcode Technologies, who will have a small team attending the conference.
It should be a great time. I look forward to not only seeing New York for the first time but meeting up with many old friends as well as meeting some new ones. If you are there and happen to see either of us, be sure to stop by and say hello.

SES is now not complete without a subway ride David!
I’ll be really afraid though if the cheese follows us there…. LOL.
