		<description>I can see where the IRS will have some &quot;pull&quot; when it comes to companies based in the United States, as they can potentially require that certain types of data be saved.

However, when it comes to sites that aren&#039;t based in the US and other companies that aren&#039;t privy to the US tax laws, then that&#039;s another story.

Besides, when it comes to revealing a SSN, then couldn&#039;t someone just go through a proxy, say that they&#039;re from another country, and not have to reveal the information?
