LinkedIn To Add Company Profiles & Other Daily Finds for March 20, 2008
Slow news day but here are a couple of great and newsworthy posts I came across today including social networking site, LinkedIn to add company profiles and Christine Churchill provides ten strategies you
can use to avoid search marketing burnout.
LinkedIn To Add Company Profiles (Mashable)
In the same manner that you can have individual profiles at social networking site LinkedIn, they will be rolling out company profiles as well. This isn’t a user-generated, or even a company effort where anyone
can go in and edit the company profile data. LinkedIn has taken six engineering, product and operations teams and iterated the company profiles based on LinkedIn’s own data, including recent promotions and
hires, search, and analytics in order to create these company profiles, which act as an integrated and interactive aspect of the LinkedIn network.
Company profiles will be viewable via an icon that will now appear beside a company’s name, wherever that company’s name appears. Click on this icon, and you’ll be directed to its profile or you can use the
company search feature as well.
Ten Strategies For Avoiding Search Marketing Burnout (Search Engine Land)
Christine Churchill writes, "Search marketing is the ultimate seductress. It lures you in with the promise of an interesting, exciting career that can actually pay the bills, but soon you’re regularly pulling
12 hour days with no vacations. There’s intense pressure to achieve high search rankings and triple digit ROIs to keep clients happy in a dynamic industry where the rules change frequently and the competition
is growing in leaps and bounds. It’s no wonder search marketers feel stressed. Stress is running rampant in the search marketing industry and failing to address its effects on you and your client relations can
destroy your SEM business faster than a low Google ranking. So how do you avoid burning out?"
She then provides ten strategies to avoid search marketing burnout.
