Twitter As A Business Tool?

Twitter – a micro-blogging platform that few knew about a year ago has now gone mainstream with over 6 million users with numbers that growing daily. Even major news outlets such as Fox News, CNN and others are using Twitter on a daily basis to get viewer reaction and create discussion around breaking stories and issues.

This leads me to question whether Twitter can be useful for business or is it simply an outlet to waste time and be counter-productive?

While there have been times that I found Twitter to be an incredible time-waster (depending on what it is keeping you from accomplishing such as actual work, spending time with family, etc.), as a small business owner, I have found it to also be extremely beneficial for business.

In a new post at Search Engine Guide, I look at five ways twitter can be used for business. Main ideas include putting a face on the company, allows for community outreach, good for product/service promotion, useful as a brand management tool and finally, allows you to poll and survey users.

  1. I accept it. Twitter is very useful for business in several ways. According to my experience twitters make to learn more about friends and colleagues interests which leads to a good running business.

  2. I think that there are a number of ways in which Twitter might be useful for business and as it develops and we as users develop with it. I have written about this a number of times on my blog.
