I think it would be pretty great if Google DID acquire HTC because then they would be in direct competition with Apple. I can't see it happening though myself because big G is more concerned with the Android platform at the moment, rather than the hardware side of things.

I'm pretty sure Google isn't buying HTC. Nexus one was made by Google, but Google themselves aren't after producing mobile hardware - it was only a launcher pad to boost Android popularity.

They can quite happily acquire my humble business if they so choose.

I'm not sure what interest Google would have in a family run grocery store, but we can live in hope right?

Out of all the acquisitions you listed David, I really like that HTC merger. Might have to pick up some stock options. Great post once again.

Hehe! Loved GooMart and the branded Google lava lamps. An interesting and funny post, maybe Google should ease up on their acquisition spree. How about this one: Google For President? will have to wait for two more years to see that happen though. While on the topic of Google, if you want to know about ranking on Google in 2010, take look at this post. http://blog.directorymaximizer.com/2010/01/28/7-seo-predictions-for-2010/dontfollow

I'm not sure who Google will buy this year but what I do know is that they will slowly but surely begin to take over the world. Google, Tesco and Coca Cola will be the world superpowers in 2020 and beyond!

Mark my words!

In seriousness, I expect them to continue heavily into the mobile market. Perhaps even launching their own mobile phone network. After all, theres big bucks in mobile and nobody has fully capitalised on it yet!

What an intriguing thought :)... Google buys link brokers and sponsored post providers... I'm sure there is a dollar amount we would consider but I'm not sure our customers would be so keen on the idea ;)
