How Organic Links Have Lost Value

Another great Infographic I discovered at SEOBook, this one showing how Google’s “fight with web spam” combined with their business development team “making spam” have made organic links less relevant than they used to be. Do you agree?

From the original post itself:

Links are still valuable in some areas of course, but where the search results are full of listings from Google.com, pushed below the fold from larger AdWords ads and/or heavily skewed by things like brand bias there is much less value in link building in numerous big money markets. After all, few care who ranks #1 if #1 is below the fold!

  1. An interesting info graphic but personally I have no problems with spam comments – as long as they add to the blog.

And it makes you update and check the blog more.

It’s a bit obvious what spam posts are (Use of the word ‘brilliant’ for example) so just get rid.

As a certain meerkat says “Simples”

  2. In my opinion, if you have the money and time, doing PPC and SEO simultaneously is the best bet for boosting rankings. However, if you’re not 100% sure of what you’re doing, you can actually hurt your campaign. It’s a good idea to do as much research as possible, or enlist the help of a online marketing company.
