My first introduction to search marketing came out of necessity more than anything else. Just getting started in the web design business and having a very basic Arizona contractors directory, I had zero money to market the site. I therefore relied solely on organic search traffic that came as a result of what would be considered now – very primitive SEO techniques.

To make a long story short, the effort paid off. The site in very short order dominated the organic SERPs for its niche which motivated my company to begin offering these same types of services to our existing web site design clients. Now I sit behind not one of the largest, but certainly one of the oldest search marketing companies in existence, having done this now since 1997.

By profession I am founder and CEO of SearchRank, a full service search and social media marketing company based in Phoenix, Arizona. I am also happily married to my wife of almost 18 years and business partner, Irma. We have three grown children and two relatively new grand children. Hobbies include musicianship, roller coasters and anything Disney. Last but certainly not least, I am a Christian by faith.

While search and social media are not my only interests, I am still thrilled to work in and follow this exciting industry. It never gets boring. It’s constantly evolving. And because I entered it during its birthing process, I can say that I’m proud to be part of its history.

While we do plan to bring on more writers in the future, I am currently the sole writer for this blog. It is not my goal to re-hash all the news and events that occur in our industry as there are already plenty of fine resources for that. Rather I try to cover topics that either directly interest me, may be of interest to our clients or are resourceful for one reason or another.

I try to keep things strictly business here but if you want to read my personal thoughts, ramblings and other stuff, be sure to visit my personal blog.
