Here are links to the slide decks for the two presentations I gave at PubCon Las Vegas. I will write up a summary later for each but at this time, I’m still quite busy with the conference itself.
PubCon Vegas 2012 is quickly approaching. The dates are October 15 – 18, 2012 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. It promises to be one of the biggest and best PubCons yet! Yours truly will be speaking on two panels and moderating a third. Here is my speaking/moderating schedule.
PubCon Las Vegas is the next big search/social media marketing conference on the docket and yours truly will be there presenting on “The Convergence of Social Media & Search.” The session asks the questions, “Does social media prevent the need for search? Does social media play an important role in search?” Myself and three other panelists will look at both sides of the issue, and discuss where the two intersect.
It’s that time of year again – the annual SEMMY awards. In case you are unsure of what a SEMMY is, the phrase is coined of course from the television Emmy awards and is an annual online awards event started in 2008 to honor the great content produced across the search and online marketing industry.
I happy to announce that a post I wrote last April on managing your online reputation with Twitter has been nominated in the Reputation Management category. Our post is competing with 7 other nominees.
The fine folks over at Vertical Measures are feeling very gracious these days. In fact they are giving away $5,000 in link building services to the grand prize winner of a content they are holding called “Boost Your Juice.” There’s even a 2nd place prize of $1,000 in link building services.
It’s a pretty awesome chance for a business to take advantage of Vertical Measure’s premium link building strategies, all designed to improve site visibility for choice keywords in the organic search results.
On March 10th, I will be in Portland speaking at SearchFest 2009 conference put on by SEMpdx, an association of search marketers based in or around the Portland area. It will be my first time speaking for SearchFest for which I am honored and actually my first time in Portland as well. I’ll be speaking on a panel related to Wordpress… a favorite topic of mine.
SMX West is just around the corner, a premier search and social media marketing conference takes place February 10-12, 2009 at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, California and will feature three days of sessions, keynotes, networking activities, special educational presentations and meals for which SMX events are famous. I am privileged to be able to speak in two separate sessions – “Tools, Glorious Tools” and “Productivity Tips For The Busy Search Marketer.”
I’ll be attending and speaking at the upcoming PubCon conference in Las Vegas in a couple of weeks so I’m tuned in to the official PubCon conference blog and as such, came across a piece this morning announcing an itinerary builder. This new Conference Builder that will help you build your conference schedule into a printable pocket list.
I’ve never been to a PubCon or even to the city of Las Vegas. So not only am I looking forward to attending this year’s PubCon in Las Vegas, I have the added privilege of being part of the speaking team as well. I will be speaking on Tuesday, November 11, 2008 in a session entitled “Is Social Media & Search a Love Story or a War Story?” along with fellow peeps Chris Winfield, Liana Evans, Bill Hartzer.
I’m freshly back from attending the 2nd Small Business Unleashed conference, this one held in Columbus Ohio where I served as one of four live-bloggers covering the sessions and workshops presented there. Like the first conference, this one proved to be an excellent time for learning, sharing and networking with small business owners from around the globe (one guy came from Australia). Out of all the conferences I attend, I have to say that this one is my favorite not only because of the quality, but the intimacy it provides seeing it is a much smaller conference than some of its larger counterparts.
I’m currently attending the Small Business Unleashed conference being held in Columbus Ohio where I will be live-blogging a total of 9 sessions. I am joined by Diane Aull, Jackie Baker and Scott Allen who will be live-blogging sessions as well. For the most part, I believe the four of us will be able to cover all sessions on the first day as well as most of the workshops occurring on the second day.
The 2nd installment of SMX Advanced has come and gone. I was glad to have been able to be a part of it having missed the first one. In two days I live blogged a total of 8 sessions and attended one additional one that I didn’t live blog. I met up with many old friends and even met some new people. It was also the first trip to Seattle for me although there was little time to actually enjoy the city. All in all, another great conference and a great trip.
