Google New AdSense Policy Could Impact Publishers

Google has made some changes to its AdSense policy, some minor but another that may have a major impact on many publishers. Jennifer Slegg provides a detailed run-down of the changes at JenSense. The minor changes deal with their referral program, using images next to ad units, AdSense for search, and copyright material. The bigger change that will impact publishers deals with their Competitive Ads and Services Policy.

Former AdSense Publisher Suing Google

Frivolous lawsuits are more comical then anything else. It is sad that they waste taxpayer money, paper, people’s time, etc. but at least they are worth a chuckle… well most of them. The latest is a former AdSense publisher who is suing Google because she was removed from the AdSense program after clicking on her own ads, a definate no-no.

Google announced today that you can now display AdSense for search results within your own site. In this manner, you have the freedom to offer users web search while still maintaining the look and feel of your site. You can keep elements like the header, footer, and site navigation panel the same for the search results page you create.

AdSense Releases API Beta

Google has released an AdSense API which allows web developers and hosts to integrate AdSense into their website offerings. The types of sites they are looking for include web hosts, blog hosts, Wiki hosts, forum hosts, and web publishers, all of which must receive a minimum 100,000 page views per day.
