We all knew this was coming. With Danny’s recent departure from Search Engine Watch, the resource he founded which was acquired twice, first by Jupiter Media and then by Incisive, it was only a matter of time before it was expected that a new conference series would be announced.

While Danny will continue to chair two more Search Engine Strategies conferences for Incisive – New York in April and San Jose in August, Danny’s new conference series will be called Search Marketing Expo, or SMX for short.

SMX will have its first event in Seattle on June 4 & 5th 2007 at the Bell Harbor Conference center. While only a two day event, I’m sure that as the popularity of SMX grows, we will soon see four day conference venues that will compete directly with the SES shows.

Along with this announcement comes the news that Danny will also launch a site offering webcasts and webinars. Search Marketing Now will combine the most authoritative and actionable education about search engine marketing issues with the convenience of attending online. The first webcast is already scheduled for December 19 at 1pm and is titled “How to Find The Right Search Marketing Partner” and will be conducted by Chris Sherman.

These two web properties along with Search Engine Land where Danny and others will continue to offer daily news and insight into the world of search will all be combined under Danny’s new company – Third Door Media. So a blog, webinars and conference circuit. One can only wonder if a forum is next?
